  • Introduction

    We welcome you to the web page of Training and Placement Cell, NIT Uttarakhand. National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand (NIT UK) is one among the ten newly established NITs by the Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India, providing technical education in various branches of Engineering. The Institute started in 2010 with three branches viz. Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication and Computer Science & Engg. In the Academic year 2012-2013 Mechanical Engineering and in the Academic year 2013-2014, Civil Engineering has been started. The Institute admits students to B.Tech. courses through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains (formerly known as AIEEE) conducted all over India by CBSE.

    • Institute of National Importance

    National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand is established for providing quality education and producing outstanding performers. Being an NIT for the state of Uttarakhand, it is a platform for meritorious state students as well as other state students to interact and create a competitive technological environment. Thus, the basic objective is to provide education to a diverse section of young generation with a motto of adaptability in all circumstances.

    • Education System

    The curriculum is flexible with continuous addition of courses to incorporate latest technology and research. Adequate qualified faculty members are available to conduct the curriculum. In addition experts from various IITs, NITs and also industries are invited to deliver guest lectures to expose the students to basic and advanced concepts. A lot of emphasis is laid on analytical skill development and on practical applications through project works and hands-on.

    • Industrial Exposure

    Industrial experience is a part of our curriculum. Students can spend a semester in any industry for internship. They learn to work in a collaborative environment, apply technical knowledge learnt in classrooms to a working industry. This often prepares students to adapt quickly to the way of working in an industry and hence enhances job prospects.

    • Overall Development

    The course structure and evaluations focus not only on technical brilliance but also on the soft skill development of an individual. The purpose is enacted by presentations and live projects using open ended learning components. Apart from this, students also govern many of their own affairs through various bodies such as operating active clubs and organizing cultural, technical and sports festival at campus.

  • Student Demography

    Students from all over India with different social background got admission at NIT Uttarakhand. Once the students are admitted, they are supported by excellent academic curriculum and different array of campus resources for fullest development. In the academic year 2016-2017, our student's spectrum shows significant varieties in terms of their home towns and all India ranks. About 70% students admitted to this Institute have all India rank better than 50,000.

  • Facility for Recruiters

    • Transportation from nearest airport (Dehradun) and railway stations (Haridwar, Dehradun) to the institute and accommodation in the city.
    • Placement coordinators to assist the recruiters to conduct placement process.
    • Computer Labs with internet facilities to conduct online tests.
    • Conference Halls for interview and group discussions.
    • Rooms with internet connectivity, LCD projectors, audio system, others necessary facilities for conducting pre-placement talks.
    • Internet, Fax, Copier, Phone, Printing Facilities for the visiting team.

    Off Campus facilities:

    • The Institute also provides facilities to recruiters to conduct the placement process in cities like Delhi and Rishikesh.
    • Facilities like halls, rooms with LCD projectors and audio system will be provided by the Institute at these locations.
    • The Institute allows students to visit a company for final interviews if the firm demands so.
